Dalek artwork test

I haven't done any Dalek artwork in a while so here is a piece I spent Good Friday afternoon playing about with.

Hopefully, if I'm still in a creative frame of mind I may do another couple over the Easter holiday weekend.

Something a little different.

Due to an administrative cock up (by me) I uploaded an image to the blog from my iPhone, and for some reason ended up really quite small when it was clicked on the computer.

Well, rectified that and changed the font to one more appropriate for the subject matter :)

As I said in the original post, this is really just an experiment to see if a Dalek comic is possible using toys rather than the more time consuming CGI route I have taken in the past.
The photos in this were taken on my iPhone, so are not as clear as they would be if taken with my camera and some lights.

What it shows me is that it IS possible to do a nice looking Dalek comic this way.

All I really need to do now is write up a story that won't need that many sets, no humans (joints, yuck) and would keep the spirit of my previous Dalek comics.  I do also have Daleks which would make Jennings style TV21 stories possible, including a Golden Emperor I built for them, the Black Dalek and a Red Dalek.

Anyway... here is the updated image and hopefully it will open without issues.

Again, please note that this is not a finished page of a proposed comic, it's a test of sorts :D

Random artwork

Here are some pieces of TV21-based Dalek artwork I've done over the years which I'm particularly happy with.

Mock TV21 Annual cover

Definitely feeling nostalgic for this work again... hmmmm....
Some more...

These next two use familiar 1960s Dalek books, but use the Dalek from the Dalek Book annual from 1964/65...

Finally, not a comic Dalek, but CGI models of the 60s MARX Dalek toy.  The yellow Daleks came out in the mid 70s (with a red one)... hence the rather limp "Life on Mars" gag... well I thought it was funny at the time...

That's all for now.

Playing with old friends.

I haven't done any Dalek artwork for a while so thought I would have a bash on the old PC.

This shows my Golden Emperor with my augmented Ron Turner style TV21 Daleks flanking him.

May be more to come. Depends how I feel about it :)

Ron Turner's Daleks

These are my only copies of TV Century 21 with Dalek comics on the back by the maestro Ron Turner.

Love them.

The Ghosts of Archaron

My attempt at a Dalek ghost story... ran out of ideas before I got very far into it.

I would have another go one day... but I might either draw it, or use models for a photo story...

Life Force

This was the story I was hoping would become my best produced yet... it was based on a story by the Admin of Project Dalek and featured a movie Dalek saucer and the previous battle saucer by Mechmaster.
This was where the headaches involved in Dalek comics really hit me hard and I just gave up after two and a bit chapters.

I think it's some of my best comic work, and I created TV21 covers to give it a nice feel.
